Planning Engineer

PURPOSE (why does the position exist, WITH what objectives and WITHIN what limits):

Position will be involved in providing infrastructure design needed in new, existing and expansion projects. Create fiber optic network plans, bill of quantities and materials.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: College graduate preferably degree in Engineering.

Knowledgeable in AutoCAD software and any mapping solutions. Telecom experience in an advantage.

Relevant Experience: Strong understanding on FOC design and Geographic Information System (GIS) software such as AutoCAD, Visio, and Google Earth.

Business Understanding: Understand company's infrastructure standard. Evaluate technical design impact cost, schedule, and risk.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Planning and Design

• Create detailed engineering drawings and plans using AutoCAD, Visio, or any GIS, specifying equipment placement, cable routing, and component requirements.
• Provide high-level and low level designs for new or enhanced network, determine the best layout and technology to meet strategic goals.

Project Management

• Evaluate and select products and services from vendors, ensuring contractual obligations and performance standards are met.
• Provide technical support and guidance to construction teams during the deployment of network infrastructure.

Records/Documentation

• Kept comprehensive records of network designs, configurations, and procedures, including as plan and as-built plans.
