As The Planner Buyer, You Will
Procure Direct Production Materials:
- Analyze demand signals using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and related systems to ensure accurate and timely purchase order (PO) placement.
- Execute timely release of purchase orders to support multi-level production requirements and maintain optimal inventory levels.
Perform Supplier Sourcing And Selection
- Conduct Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes for gap buys and alternative sourcing requirements.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost efficiency and value.
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery performance, and alignment with company objectives.
Ensure Timely Communications
- Monitor supply status and maintain accurate schedules within MRP systems to ensure continuity of operations.
- Proactively communicate supply issues, risks, and delays to planners, internal stakeholders, and regional support teams.
- Escalate critical supply concerns and lead negotiations to mitigate impact on production.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Participate in cross-functional teams (CFTs) to support projects and initiatives relevant to procurement and supply chain operations.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Production Planning, Engineering, Logistics, and other support functions to align demand and supply requirements.
Administrative Support
- Resolve logistics, receiving, and inspection-related issues to ensure timely system transactions and prevent payment delays.
To be considered for this role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Behavioral Science, Engineering or related Supply Chain Management Course
- Minimum of 2 years experience in buying and purchasing function
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
- Preferably with experience in raw material procurement
- Willing to accept contractual role
Strong Skills In
