Pipe Insulator (Chilled Water System)

Job Summary

The Chilled Water Pipe Insulator will specialize in installing thermal insulation materials on chilled water piping networks, valves, and air conditioning equipment. The primary focus of this role is to regulate temperature efficiencies, prevent condensation moisture buildup, and ensure a completely airtight seal across the cooling network.

Key Responsibilities

• Chilled System Insulation: Apply rubber foam (such as Armaflex or Aeroflex), fiberglass, or rockwool insulation specifically onto chilled water supply and return lines.
• Vapor Barrier Sealing: Install outer vapor barriers, cladding, aluminum foil tapes, and specialized adhesives to ensure zero moisture penetration and prevent sweating pipes.
• Layout Miter Cutting: Accurately measure, cut, and shape insulation segments at precise angles (miter cuts) to seamlessly wrap around elbows, tees, flanges, and valves.
• Cladding Installation: Fit and secure metal sheet cladding (aluminum or stainless steel) over insulated outdoor pipe lines for weatherproofing and physical protection.
  
  

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of direct experience as a Pipe Insulator specifically handling Chilled Water / HVAC systems in high-rise buildings or industrial setups.
• Skills: Highly skilled in clean rubber-foam adhesive bonding and wrapping techniques; expert at eliminating air gaps that cause condensation leakage.
• Traits: Sharp attention to detail regarding tight joints; comfortable working on scaffolding or tight utility ceilings
