Role Description

Coreware is looking for a PHP Developer with strong experience in CodeIgniter to join our team and help support and expand our retail technology platform. This is a full-time, on-site role for a PHP Developer (Codeigniter) located in Taguig. You'll be working on a robust point-of-sale (POS), inventory, and compliance system used by firearm retailers and specialty merchants across the U.S. The PHP Developer will be responsible for back-end web development utilizing the Codeigniter framework, implementing object-oriented programming principles, and supporting front-end development tasks. Additionally, the developer will be involved in various aspects of software development and programming to ensure robust and scalable software solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance platform features using PHP (CodeIgniter framework)
  • Customize system behavior to meet the specific needs of retail customers
  • Integrate with third-party APIs including payment processors, online storefronts, and regulatory systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on feature planning, QA, and deployment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve bugs in production and staging environments
  • Optimize backend performance and ensure data integrity
  • Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with PHP and CodeIgniter
  • Strong MySQL skills, including query optimization and database design
  • Experience working with RESTful APIs and JSON/XML data formats
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap for basic UI work
  • Understanding of Git version control and basic CI/CD workflows
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strong sense of ownership
  • Comfortable working in a structured development environment (Agile/Scrum)

Nice to Have

  • Experience with retail POS or inventory systems
  • Knowledge of compliance workflows is a plus (e.g., 4473, ATF, serialized inventory)
  • Familiarity with Coreware's solutions or the shooting sports industry
  • Exposure to AWS, Linux servers, or DevOps tools
  • Ability to write technical documentation or customer-facing implementation notes
