The Role
The Photo Editor is responsible for the creation, enhancement, and manipulation of digital images for the brands and products under the Ecosa umbrella. From image retouching and color corrections to exporting images and file management, this role plays a crucial part in maintaining the visual quality and consistency of our brands. As a part of the UX/UI team, you will also assist with other design needs, including but not limited to designing pages for web, social assets and print material.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Image Editing and Retouching: Use industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop) to edit, retouch, and enhance images, ensuring they meet project requirements and brand guidelines.
- Color Correction: Perform color correction and tonal adjustments to create new product colourways out of existing imagery.
- Image Manipulation: Create composite images, remove or replace elements, and apply creative enhancements as needed for various projects.
- File Management: Organise and manage digital image assets, maintaining an accessible image library.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all images meet brand consistency and technical standards, including resolution, colour profiles, and file formats.
- Adaptation: Resize and format images for various digital platforms, including websites, social media, email campaigns, and other marketing materials.
- Research & Innovation: Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to image editing and design to bring new ideas and techniques to the team.
- Work Collaboration: Assist the UX/UI team in any other design needed, project requirements and deliver image solutions that align with project goals.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in image retouching and manipulation in a similar role
- Proficient in image editing software, particularly Adobe Photoshop
- Competent in other Adobe Suite programs such as Illustrator, InDesign and Figma
- Independent, proactive, with a can-do attitude
- Strong knowledge of image file formats, color profiles, and resolution requirements
- Understanding of design principles and aesthetics
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent team player and communication skills to work within a very collaborative team
- Good command of both written and spoken English
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once; strong time management skills and ability to meet project deadlines.
- A portfolio of previous image editing and design work.
