Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and support complex US GAAP accounting matters, including ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) and ASC 842 (Lease Accounting), ensuring accurate application, documentation, and ongoing compliance.
- Prepare accurate financial statements for external clients.
- Maintain and manage general ledgers, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
- Support payroll processing and assist with payroll tax filings for multiple clients.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals and adjustments.
- Review financial data for accuracy and completeness.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively directly with clients to resolve discrepancies and provide financial guidance.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting, including end-to-end financial processes.
- Experience with technical US GAAP topics, including ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) and ASC 842 (Lease Accounting), is strongly preferred.
- Must be comfortable in direct client-facing conversations, explaining accounting treatment, financial results, and resolving discrepancies.
- Experience with cost accounting and job costing, particularly for client-based environments.
- Background supporting clients in construction and/or manufacturing industries is highly preferred.
- Experience managing small business clients with multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and general ledger accounting.
- Exposure to or hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
- Solid understanding of corporate accounting principles, payroll processing, and financial reporting.
- Proven experience in direct, face-to-face communication with US-based or international clients, including explaining financial results, resolving discrepancies, and leading client discussions.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
