Role Description The Permit Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in San Juan. This position is responsible for securing and maintaining all necessary permits and licenses for company operations, including retail stations and commercial projects. Daily tasks include preparing and submitting permit applications, coordinating with government agencies and local authorities, tracking approval timelines, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The Permit Officer maintains accurate documentation, updates internal records, and communicates permit status to relevant teams. The role also involves supporting audits, monitoring changes in regulations, and collaborating with operations and legal teams to reduce compliance risks.
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of permitting processes, government regulations, and compliance requirements related to petroleum or similar industries.
  • Proficiency in documentation, record-keeping, and basic contract or legal document review.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with internal teams, government offices, and external partners.
  • Solid organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple permits and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills for reviewing requirements, identifying risks, and ensuring accuracy in submissions.
  • Ability to work on-site in San Juan and to conduct field visits to government offices and project locations as needed.
  • Proficiency with office productivity tools (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, email, and online government portals).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Legal Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in permitting, compliance, regulatory affairs, or local government liaison work is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated reliability, integrity, and commitment to following ethical and regulatory standards.
