JOB DESCRIPTION Under the direction of the Division Chief of Legal Assistance Division of the Legal Service, the Attorney IV is responsible for reviewing the output of Action Officers drafting legal opinion and responses legal queries pertaining to cases and other legal related matter, providing legal advice to the Department Secretary and/or OBSUs, represents the Department head in courts, administrative bodies, conferences and other related offices drafting pleadings, conducting investigations in administrative proceedings, conducting legal studies, serving as member of Technical Working Groups (TWGs), acting as Investigating Officer, and performing other related tasks. | |||
Functions and Responsibilities: | |||
1. Represents the Department head in courts, administrative bodies, conferences and other related offices 2. Assume leadership of the Division as Officer-In-Charge whenever the Division Chief is out of the office 3. Guides and advises the head of office and relevant Department officials on pertinent legal matters 4. Draft complicated legal documents and instruments such as but not limited to pleadings such as complaint or initiatory pleading, comments, motions, position papers affidavits and other legal forms for compliances 5. Take action and/or prepare responses to queries and act on complex legal issues 6. Prepares legal opinions on pertinent legal documents 7. Provides legal counseling to officials, personnel and clients and 8. Does other related duties and responsibilities. | |||
