About The Role
As a CBRE People Generalist, you'll be responsible for supporting various human resources initiatives, policies and procedures. You will also provide conflict resolution services, and communicate People/HR programs and policies.
This job is part of the People Strategy and Operations function and has specific responsibility for conducting and monitoring compliance with background screening and drug and alcohol testing requirements on the Exxon account, alongside the design, execution and monitoring of human resource programmes and policies.
The Role Consists Of 2 Elements
The Schedule Will Be As Follows
Mon-Fri – 9pm – 6am (7 hour overlap with CST)
Night shift differential applies from 10:00PM-06.00AM local time

- Global background screening Compliance
The Schedule Will Be As Follows

What You'll Do
Background Screening & Drugs & Alcohol Testing:
US & Canada
- New hire screening
- Re-screening in accordance with the MSA (Master Service Agreement)
- Random drug pool & incident testing
- Develop a process (outside of email notifications) that double checks all due dates for employees testing and background requirements
- Vendor compliance and management of processes and document transferring, including billing received
- Weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting, AMS and Globally
- Analyze trends occurring and make recommendations for efficiencies
- Ensure we are compliant globally for background screening and drug and alcohol testing.
- Develop Global Screening Smartsheet to track & store screenings & re-screening dates
- Run the Screening Champions Network and meet regularly with Regional Screening Champions.
- Conduct internal background screening audits.
- Prepare for client background screening audits.
- Provide support to the Senior People Business Partner on UK and global Exxon people matters.
- Support Exxon cyclical initiatives, including Performance Management, Compensation Planning and Annual Essential Learning.
- Oversee HR transactions related to screening & onboarding of new employees, status changes for existing employees, and terminations of employees.
- Provide interpretation of HR policies and procedures as they relate to individuals and the company objectives.
- Prepare reports and data to present to other areas of the business.
- Have a broad knowledge of own job discipline and some knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
- Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. May convince to reach an agreement.
- Impact the quality of own work and the work of others on the team.
- Work primarily within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
- Explain complex information to others in straightforward situations.
- Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Human Resource Management, or any equivalent Course with 5-7 years of experience as HR Generalist
- A comprehensive understanding of a range of processes, procedures, systems, and concepts within own job function is required.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Advanced organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
- Advanced math skills. Ability to calculate advanced figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.
