The People Experience Specialist is a key individual contributor who helps architect the everyday experiences of our people. This role focuses on experience design, engagement programs, DEIB initiatives, and foundation/CSR workall anchored on building a connected, inclusive, and purpose-driven P&A Grant Thornton culture.
You will collaborate closely with PX POCs across practices, HRBPs, Talent Development, and our Internal Communications team. While comms production is handled by another team, you will create the concepts, briefs, and experience narratives that bring programs to life.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in experience mapping, culture-building, and creating meaningful moments that strengthen belonging.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
PEOPLE EXPERIENCE DESIGN & MAPPING
- Support the design and enhancement of the end-to-end employee experience journey (onboarding, milestone moments, recognition touchpoints, career development experiences, etc.).
- Map employee pain points, positive moments, and opportunities for experience improvement.
- Develop program concepts and activation plans to elevate the daily people experience.
ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMS & ACTIVATION
- Lead and execute engagement initiatives such as wellness programs, recognition activations, Purple Tribe events, and cross-practice engagement activities.
- Drive consistent execution of the annual PX calendar and roadmap.
- Coordinate with practice PX POCs for rollout, alignment, and site-based engagement needs.
- Facilitate employee listening activities (focus groups, learning circles, pulse touchpoints) and convert insights into recommendations.
DEIB (DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION & BELONGING) INITIATIVES
- Support the implementation of the firm's DEIB strategy and annual plan.
- Develop concepts for DEIB campaigns, inclusive leadership activities, and educational programs.
- Monitor DEIB metrics and progress (gender balance, representation, participation).
- Partner with L&D to embed DEIB principles in learning experiences and leadership development.
FOUNDATION & CSR PROGRAMS
- Coordinate and execute programs under the P&A Grant Thornton Foundation (community outreach, volunteers, disaster response, advocacies, partner communities, scholar engagement).
- Manage volunteer pools, events logistics, and partnerships with external organizations.
- Track program participation, impact, and sustainability indicators.
PROGRAM DESIGN, BRIEFING & CROSS-TEAM COLLABORATION
- Develop creative briefs, experience guidelines, and concept notes for the Internal Communications & Marketing teams.
- Partner with these teams to ensure campaigns and materials align with PX program objectives.
- Collaborate with HRBPs, L&D, Talent Acquisition, and other HR units to deliver cohesive people-first experiences.
INSIGHTS, REPORTING & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
- Maintain dashboards and trackers for engagement, DEIB, and foundation programs.
- Present insights and recommendations to the People Experience Assistant Manager.
- Conduct post-event evaluations to enhance future PX initiatives.
Qualifications
MUST-HAVE
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, HR, Behavioral Science, Communications, Marketing, or related fields.
- 25 years of experience in HR Engagement, Employee Experience, DEI, Culture Programs, Events, or related work.
- Strong program management and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Experience in designing or improving employee touchpoints and engagement activities.
- Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
- High empathy, creativity, and a people-first mindset.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience in professional services or fast-paced environments.
- Skills in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or other design tools for concept mock-ups.
- Background in UX thinking, service design, journey mapping, or experience mapping.
- Prior involvement in DEIB or community engagement programs.
