Role Description The PCB Designer Engineer role at SAWO Inc. is a full-time, on-site position based in Cebu. The PCB Designer Engineer will be responsible for designing, laying out, and updating printed circuit boards for sauna heaters, steam generators, and control systems, ensuring reliability, manufacturability, and compliance with relevant standards. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with electrical and mechanical engineers, creating and maintaining schematic diagrams, verifying component libraries, and preparing design documentation and manufacturing files (such as Gerber and BOM). The role also involves reviewing prototypes, supporting testing and troubleshooting activities, and coordinating with production teams and suppliers to optimize designs for cost and performance. The PCB Designer Engineer will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, support product updates, and ensure that designs align with SAWO's quality and sustainability objectives.
Qualifications
  • Strong PCB design skills, including schematic capture, layout, and library management using industry-standard EDA tools.
  • Solid understanding of electronics, including analog and digital circuits, component selection, and power electronics fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM), design for test (DFT), and PCB fabrication processes and materials.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards, and translate them into practical PCB designs.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams such as R&D, mechanical design, and manufacturing engineering.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and capability to debug and support hardware during testing and production.
  • Relevant technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Familiarity with quality and environmental standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001) and safety considerations in electrical product design is an advantage.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to document designs and present ideas clearly.
