We are seeking a detail-driven, experienced Intermediate Payroll Specialist to support end-to-end Australian payroll operations. Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager and based onsite in our Clark office, you will manage weekly pay runs, interpret complex Modern Awards and Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs), execute Single Touch Payroll (STP) lodgments, and perform month-end and year-end statutory reconciliations for medium-to-large workforce operations.
Your Impact
End-to-End Payroll Processing: Ensure the timely and accurate execution of weekly pay runs in strict alignment with employment contracts, EBAs, Modern Awards, and company policies.
STP & Statutory Compliance: Lodge Single Touch Payroll (STP) reports to the ATO for each pay cycle; process payroll tax, superannuation contributions, PAYG reporting, Child Support deductions, and state portable long service leave (e.g., Coinvest, TasBuild, SA & WA funds).
Employee Lifecycle & Records: Set up new hires, process termination calculations, maintain complete personal files, process manual adjustments, and resolve employee payroll inquiries in a professional and confidential manner.
Month-End & Executive Reporting: Run monthly leave reports for finance teams, compile weekly headcount summaries, assist in preparing monthly Board Pack reports, and complete year-end reconciliations and ATO finalizations.
What You Bring
The Experience:5+ years of solid experience in payroll processing, with a focus on managing medium-to-large workforces. Proven background interpreting Australian Modern Awards, Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs), and contracts.
Systems Expertise: Hands-on experience with computerized enterprise payroll software (e.g., PayGlobal, PeopleSoft, ADP, Pronto, JD Edwards) alongside intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
Australian Regulatory Knowledge: Proficient knowledge of Australian industrial relations, taxation rules, superannuation laws, and state/federal statutory reporting cycles.
Core Competencies: Strong analytical capabilities, exceptional attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, high organizational capacity for competing priorities, and excellent written and verbal English communication.
