About the role
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing end-to-end payroll operations to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant salary processing for all employees. This role handles key payroll activities including data entry, validation, reconciliation, statutory compliance, and payroll reporting. The specialist will collaborate closely with HR, Finance, and other stakeholders to address payroll concerns, resolve discrepancies, and ensure seamless payroll execution. The position also maintains comprehensive payroll records, manages statutory loan applications, and ensures all payroll transactions are properly coordinated with the Finance team for timely and accurate recording in the company's books of accounts. A high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism is essential in performing this role.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform end-to-end payroll processes, including data entry, verification, and processing of payroll for all employees.
- Monitor payroll approvals and prepare payments to employees through various payment methods, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain and document all payroll records, including employee information, tax withholdings,
- deductions, and other relevant data.
- Reconcile payroll data and records in a timely manner to ensure accuracy and compliance with
- regulatory requirements.
- Prepare internal payroll reports for management review, including summaries of payroll costs,
- deductions, and other relevant metrics.
- Resolve payroll issues and disputes promptly and effectively, collaborating with relevant stakeholders such as HR, finance, and employees.
- Respond to employees inquiries on payroll issues and concerns in a professional and timely manner, providing accurate information and assistance as needed.
- Monitor statutory loan application and approve qualified filings. Track all approved loans and upload on Sprout Payroll.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role within the BPO industry, with a
- strong understanding of payroll processes and regulations.
- Proficiency in payroll software and MS OƯice Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to reconcile discrepancies effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees and stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
