Job Description

You bring to the role

  • At least 3 years experience in payroll processing, preferably within a high-volume, multi-client, or outsourced services environment.
  • CPA qualification or currently pursuing a professional accounting qualification will be highly regarded
  • A sound understanding of payroll principles, including earnings, deductions, leave entitlements, payroll reconciliations, and payroll reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • The ability to follow established processes, procedures, and quality controls while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with a willingness to learn and continuously improve.
  • The ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively with onshore and offshore team members.

Your role will include:

  • Processing payrolls for multiple clients by following established procedures, checklists, and payroll calendars.
  • Accurately entering and validating payroll data, including employee information, earnings, deductions, adjustments, and leave transactions.
  • Preparing payroll reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation in accordance with documented processes and client requirements.
  • Ensuring payroll activities are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
  • Assisting with payroll compliance and reporting obligations under the guidance of the Australian team.
  • Maintaining accurate employee payroll records and ensuring data integrity within payroll systems.
  • Escalating payroll queries, exceptions, and discrepancies to the appropriate Australian team members and assisting with their resolution.
  • Supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end payroll activities as required.
  • Following established quality control procedures to ensure payroll deliverables meet internal and client standards.
  • Working closely with Australian team members, who will provide guidance, support, and direction on client-specific requirements and processes.
  • Contributing ideas for process improvements and efficiencies as you develop your payroll knowledge and experience.
  • Building positive working relationships with both internal stakeholders through professional and timely communication.
