Job Description
Summary
The Payroll Analyst is responsible for end-to-end Payroll processing administration for Tenet employees. The role is responsible for reviewing, analyzing and processing all payroll information for a designated group. The position requires comprehensive knowledge of basic payroll principles and state/local tax regulations. This position requires excellent communications skills, including the proper use of payroll terminology, professionalism, and ability to preserve confidentiality.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Perform numerous functions with a thorough knowledge of Payroll/HR systems and Tenet policies and procedures, with limited supervision
2. Review and process Payroll transactions in accordance with the established department guidelines
3. Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed timely and accurately
4. Reconcile payroll prior to transmission, audit entries, and validate confirmed reports after transmission
5. Responsible for administration of all garnishments and tracking all returned or stopped garnishment payments/orders
6. Responsible for researching pay or pay related items and providing a timely resolution
7. Responsible for editing/approving time records in the Kronos T&A system
8. Understand proper taxation of earnings and process garnishment calculations and compliance
9. Thorough understanding of state and local tax regulations, in order to determine proper taxation on employee's record
10. Communicate with Corporate Payroll Team and other parties regarding Payroll issues, as appropriate
11. Analyze, calculate and determine appropriate approach for manual checks, overpayments, disability adjustments, retro payment adjustments and final payouts in accordance with federal and state regulatory guidelines
12. Prepare, analyze and contribute to reports, as directed
13. Understand the dependencies that exist with other HR/Finance departments
14. Identify and propose solutions for process improvements
15. Complete audit checklist and SOX reports
16. Assist with special projects, as requested
QUALIFICATIONS or relevant experience
Good written and verbal communication skills
Bachelor's degree
