Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for someone building a career in payroll. You will play a key supporting role within a structured payroll team, contributing to the accurate and timely processing of payroll by maintaining records, supporting reporting, and responding to team member queries. You will work under the guidance of experienced payroll professionals, with real opportunity to grow your understanding of payroll systems, legislation, and best practice along the way.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Maintaining payroll records and ensuring data integrity across payroll systems
  • Supporting the preparation of standard payroll reports and reconciliations
  • Responding to payroll queries from team members and escalating issues when required
  • Collaborating with the wider payroll team to meet operational deadlines and service standards
  • Keeping payroll data confidential and compliant with data privacy requirements
  • Contributing to process improvement by flagging errors, inefficiencies, or opportunities to streamline tasks
  • Staying current with payroll procedures, system updates, and relevant legislative changes

What You Bring

  • Experience in payroll administration or a related finance or HR operations role
  • Basic understanding of payroll legislation and statutory requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data processing
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication skills and confidence responding clearly to payroll queries
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, and willingness to learn payroll systems quickly
  • A team-oriented, collaborative approach with a genuine commitment to learning and development
