We are seeking a meticulous, highly experienced Payroll & Accounts Payable Officer to manage complex Australian construction payrolls and high-volume supplier accounts. You will interpret complex Enterprise Agreements and Modern Awards, process weekly wages, manage up to 1,500 monthly AP invoices in MYOB, and execute supplier statement reconciliations.
Your Impact
- Complex Australian Payroll Administration: Process accurate weekly wages and fortnightly salaries for medium-sized workforces; interpret multiple Enterprise Agreements, construction industry Awards, and employment contracts; manage manual timesheets, complex allowances, overtime, leave accruals, Single Touch Payroll (STP), and statutory superannuation.
- Industry-Specific Compliance: Calculate and remit construction-specific obligations, including redundancy trust contributions (e.g., Protect) and portable long service leave schemes, while ensuring strict alignment with Fair Work legislation.
- High-Volume Accounts Payable: Process up to 1,500 supplier invoices per month in MYOB, manage PO-free approvals, handle employee expense claims, attach electronic source documents to transactions, and allocate entries across multiple job codes and expense accounts.
- Payments & Supplier Reconciliations: Execute weekly and monthly electronic supplier payments within credit terms, manage foreign currency transactions, perform detailed MYOB supplier statement reconciliations, and resolve vendor queries promptly.
What You Bring
- The Payroll Experience:3 to 5 years of solid experience in Australian payroll administration, featuring deep proficiency in Enterprise Agreement interpretation, manual timesheet processing, redundancy trusts, and STP compliance.
- The Accounts Payable Experience:3 to 5 years of experience in high-volume Accounts Payable roles, managing end-to-end invoice entry, electronic payments, and complex general ledger/job code allocations.
- Software Mastery: Essential, hands-on proficiency with MYOB and intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
- Sector Knowledge: Prior background supporting clients within the Australian construction, mining, or oil and gas industries is strongly preferred.
- Core Competencies: Impeccable attention to detail, sound numeracy and problem-solving skills, strict adherence to data confidentiality, and exceptional verbal and written English communication.
