The Opportunity
As part of OpenText's Finance organization, the Senior Accountant plays a key role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting. This position is responsible for month-end close activities, account reconciliations, financial analysis, and compliance with US GAAP and company policies. The role supports global accounting operations, drives process improvements, and partners with stakeholders across functions to deliver accurate financial results.
You Are Great At:
- Preparing and recording journal entries, accruals, and estimates in compliance with US GAAP and company policies.
- Managing month-end close activities, including balance sheet reconciliations and timely resolution of reconciliation open items.
- Performing financial analysis and variance reviews, providing meaningful explanations for balance sheet and P&L fluctuations.
- Supporting global accounting and reporting processes across multiple regions and entities.
- Executing internal controls, SOX compliance requirements, and audit support activities.
- Identifying process improvement opportunities and participating in system, automation, and transformation initiatives.
What It Takes:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, including global accounting operations and strong US GAAP knowledge.
- Proven experience in month-end close, journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and open-item management.
- Hands-on experience with SAP; experience with BlackLine, CoreShare, Seamless (or similar consolidation tools), and AI-enabled tools is highly preferred.
- Prior team leadership, coaching, or people management experience is an advantage.
