Payment Posting Specialist (Pain Management & Orthopedic) | Permanent WFH

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Payment Posting Specialist to support our pain management and orthopedic clients. This role is responsible for accurately posting, reconciling, and validating insurance and patient payments while ensuring all financial transactions are properly applied to patient accounts.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of medical payment posting experience and hands-on experience using AdvancedMD or ModMed (Modernizing Medicine). Strong knowledge of ERAs, EOBs, payment reconciliation, and medical billing workflows is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately post insurance and patient payments in AdvancedMD or ModMed.
• Process and post ERAs, EOBs, electronic payments, and paper checks.
• Review payment details and apply payments accurately to the appropriate patient accounts, claims, and service lines.
• Reconcile posted payments against bank deposits, payment reports, and other financial records.
• Review and validate ERA auto-posted transactions, correcting exceptions and discrepancies as needed.
• Research and resolve payment posting errors and discrepancies.
• Ensure insurance payments, patient responsibility, contractual adjustments, and other transactions are accurately posted.
• Review out-of-network payments and perform additional research or reconciliation when required.
• Maintain daily productivity and accuracy standards.
• Coordinate with internal teams regarding payment discrepancies, posting issues, or account concerns.
• Follow established client workflows and payment posting procedures.
• Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and protect patient and financial information.
• Perform quality checks to ensure payment posting is complete, accurate, and up to date.
  
  

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of hands-on medical payment posting experience.
• Experience with AdvancedMD OR ModMed (Modernizing Medicine) is required.
• Strong experience posting:
• Electronic Remittance Advices (ERAs)
• Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)
• Insurance payments
• Patient payments
• Electronic payments and paper checks
• Experience reconciling payments against deposits, payment reports, or bank records.
• Strong understanding of medical payment posting and insurance remittance information.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and consistently meet productivity and quality expectations.
• Comfortable working in a remote environment.
• Experience supporting pain management, orthopedic, or other specialty medical practices.
• Experience handling high-volume payment posting.
• Experience identifying and correcting ERA auto-posting errors.
• Experience with both AdvancedMD and ModMed.
• Familiarity with specialty-specific insurance payment workflows.
• Experience working with out-of-network payments and complex payment reconciliation.
