Key Responsibilities
1. Reconciliation & Reporting
Perform daily reconciliation of Merchant Text Files against the BancNet P2M
(Person-to-Merchant) report, ensuring all P2M charges are accurate, complete,
and aligned with expected billing and settlement amounts.
Conduct regular reconciliation of InstaPay and PESONet incoming and outgoing
transactions, promptly identifying variances and ensuring timely clearance of
discrepancies.
Prepare and maintain reconciliation logs, exception reports, and supporting
documentation to ensure audit readiness and compliance with internal controls.
2. Exception Handling, Escalation & Coordination
Identify, validate, and escalate any discrepancies found during reconciliation to
relevant teams such as Solution Managers, IT, Client Success, or merchant
partners.
Coordinate with acquiring partners, issuers, OFIs, and internal departments to
resolve operational issues efficiently.
Provide operational insights for process gaps, system issues, or recurring
mismatches and assist in developing preventive measures.
3. Chargeback & Dispute Management
Process chargebacks and dispute cases in accordance with internal policies,
network rules, and regulatory guidelines.
Ensure timely submission of supporting documents, clear communication with
OFIs and stakeholders, and strict adherence to prescribed turnaround times
(TAT).
Maintain accurate records of dispute outcomes, reversal entries, and settlements
for audit and reporting.
4. Settlement Processing
Handle PhilPaSS/RTGS settlement processing, including posting of settlement
instructions, monitoring of settlement acknowledgments, and ensuring accurate
end-of-day balancing.
Coordinate with Treasury, IT, and correspondent banks to ensure smooth
settlement operations and resolve any settlement exceptions.
5. Compliance, Risk & Control
Ensure all operational activities comply with internal policies, BSP regulations,
and applicable clearinghouse rules (BancNet, InstaPay, PESONet, PhilPaSS).
Participate in internal and external audits, ensuring availability of complete
documentation and timely closure of audit findings.
Support enhancement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to strengthen
controls and operational efficiency.
6. Continuous Improvement & Support
Recommend process enhancements to improve accuracy, reduce manual
intervention, and strengthen reconciliation and settlement efficiency.
Provide support in system testing, UAT, operational rollout of new products, and
implementation of enhancements affecting payments, settlement, and digital
banking operations.
Collaborate with partners and service providers to align on process updates and
operational improvements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Business
Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Preferably with 13 years of experience in Philippine banking operations,
particularly in any of the following:
o Retail Banking Operations
o Payments & Settlement (InstaPay, PESONet, P2M, BancNet)
o Dispute and Chargeback Handling
o Reconciliation and Exception Processing
o Settlement Operations via RTGS/PhilPaSS
Strong knowledge of banking reconciliation processes
Familiar with PhilPaSS/RTGS, BancNet systems, and electronic fund transfer
schemes
Proficient in MS Excel; familiarity with core banking systems is an advantage
Understanding of BSP regulations and Philippine payments frameworks
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Good communication and coordination skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks under time-sensitive deadlines
Strong sense of ownership, integrity, and confidentiality
