Help protect the financial system by leading a critical transaction screening function. In this role, you will guide day-to-day screening activities, ensure timely escalation of potential issues, and strengthen quality controls. You will partner closely with compliance and business stakeholders while supporting a high-performing team. As a Payment lifecycle analyst in the transaction screening team, you oversee day-to-day transaction screening activities for payments and messaging to support sanctions compliance and anti-money laundering practices. You lead a team of screening operators, apply sound judgment in managing escalations, and ensure cases are handled accurately and on time. You strengthen quality control, reporting, and process improvements in collaboration with compliance and business partners.
Job responsibilities
- Screen payments and SWIFT messages (inbound and outbound) in line with applicable screening policies, procedures, and practices
- Identify, refer, and escalate suspect transactions for resolution within defined timelines
- Apply sound judgment and discretion when reviewing and resolving sanctions and anti-money laundering screening cases
- Recommend, develop, and implement improvements to procedures, policies, and screening programs
- Perform quality control and quality assurance reviews on an agreed frequency across sampled and/or completed work
- Provide periodic reporting to managers and senior leadership on screening volumes, trends, quality observations, and key risks
- Directly supervise screening operators and support performance, engagement, and capability development
- Assign and oversee daily work to ensure consistent execution and workload coverage
- Ensure the process operates within agreed service level expectations and escalation paths
- Coordinate with internal partners and compliance stakeholders to support effective case management and issue resolution
- Lead or support improvement initiatives and projects to enhance quality, efficiency, and client experience
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Minimum of 4 years of experience required in banking operations or financial services operations.
- Working knowledge of SWIFT and international payment conventions
- Strong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to document decisions clearly
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information and respond to questions from stakeholder groups
- Effective interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach when engaging business and compliance partners
- Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
- High attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately under pressure and in high-volume environments with tight cut-offs
- Flexibility to work shifts (day/night) and weekends as required by business needs
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, including working across multiple applications
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Experience investigating sanctions screening and/or anti-money laundering transaction screening cases
- Prior people management experience, including day-to-day work allocation and coaching
- Developing experience using AI-powered analytics, workflow automation, or intelligent process tools to drive efficiency gains, reduce manual effort, or improve accuracy in operational processes.
Additional Information
- Work schedule is variable depending on business needs as the function supports a 24/7 operations (primarily on a night shift MNL time) rest days may vary between Sun-Mon, Fri-Sat, or Sat-Sun
