Payment Specialist I
The Payment Services Center (PSC) is hiring industry leading Payment Services Specialists. Must be available to work in office and work a flexible/rotating schedule, including nights and weekends (U.S. Hours). We are looking for a highly motivated, quick-learning, team-oriented person who will prioritize the well-being and satisfaction of both internal and customers. They actively listen to customer concerns, demonstrate empathy, and strive to find satisfactory resolutions. Will demonstrate a proactive attitude towards problem-solving. conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
Main Responsibilities
- Intake calls from internal and external customers while adhering to an established call flow, actively engaging with callers, and maintaining, concise, and accurate documentation in Case Management and all applicable applications.
- Provide assistance to stores in real-time to help resolve payment authorization situations at the POS.
- Investigate and help resolve disputes involving customer transactions and payment acceptance.
- Utilize various collection strategies in an attempt to collect payments while following the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and state guidelines and laws. Is accountable for negotiating payment terms to reduce losses.
- Perform investigative activities such as Skip Tracing using available resources and applications.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ Years Customer Service or Retail Experience required
- 3+ Years Contact Center experience required
- 1+ Years Debt Collections experience preferably
- Understanding of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) & Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and be able to follow the guidelines.
- Proficient computer skills with working knowledge of Windows, Web-Based applications and standard business applications such as Microsoft Office.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills are required with the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly for written and verbal communication.
- Must possess excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, in a fast-paced environment.
- Can effectively overcome objections from customers who decline repayment options.
- Ability to compute basic math calculations using addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
- Must type a minimum of 40 WPM, net.
