We're looking for a strategic and experienced Payer Maintenance Coordinator to join our team and help with the operational and strategic performance of our end-to-end revenue cycle (order to cash).The Payer Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring payer contracts and configuration data are accurate, timely, and complete across our billing platforms. You'll play a vital role in preventing denials and supporting clean claims by maintaining payer setup and supporting cross-functional coordination.

Specific job responsibilities include:

  • Accurately input and maintain payer information to support efficient claims processing and enhance revenue cycle performance.
  • Support EHR provider onboarding through payer entry, alignment and mapping efforts.
  • Review and validate payer contracts, ensuring all required checklists and documentation are complete and accurate to uphold data integrity.
  • Update and manage payer contract details and rate information within internal systems such as Salesforce and ZIO Suite.
  • Ensure timely and accurate upload, validation, and maintenance of billing-related payer data.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Market Access, Strategic Payer Partners, RCM Commercial Liaisons, and Billing Vendors to resolve data discrepancies and clarify payer information.
  • Participate in SOX-compliant documentation and audit activities to ensure regulatory adherence.
  • Contribute to special initiatives, including payer data cleanup efforts and system enhancement projects.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental goals and operational efficiency.

About you:

Experience:

  • 2-4 years of experience in billing, payer maintenance, or health insurance operations
  • Familiarity with denial codes, claims adjudication, and reimbursement workflows
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and accountability
  • Ability to co-lead payer initiative projects and execute associated tasks

Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data entry, validation, and audits
  • Familiarity with CRM or contract management systems (Salesforce preferred)
  • Understanding of payer contract structures, plan codes, and rate tables
  • Basic knowledge of healthcare billing and claims adjudication processes
  • Familiarity with denial codes and common claim rejections
  • Ability to follow documentation standards (SOX compliance or similar)
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with internal teams
  • Strong time management and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Problem-solving mindset with accountability and follow-through

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to navigate complex payer landscapes networks.
