Job Description

As the Partnerships & Communications Manager, you will be a strategic, high-impact leader responsible for building and amplifying our brand's presence across the country. This role combines external strategic partnerships, Key Opinion Leader (KOL) management, and essential public relations (PR) functions. You will be accountable for increasing brand pride, visibility, and relevance by securing high-value external collaborations and functionally leading a robust network of internal and local partners. This Partnerships & Communications Manager plays a crucial role for driving both brand awareness and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Partnerships Strategy & Execution

  1. Develop and own the overarching national partnerships strategy, identifying key brand and promotional opportunities that align with company strategy and priorities.
  2. Manage, negotiate, and execute high-level national partnerships and events, ensuring all contracts and deliverables are met.
  3. Functionally manage and accompany local partnerships at the store level, providing guidance, resources, and policy adherence to ensure successful activation across the country.

Public Relations (PR) & Media Management

  1. Lead the company's PR and media relations efforts to secure widespread visibility and positive brand awareness.
  2. Proactively pitch and coordinate media opportunities, focusing on key company milestones, product launches, and sports initiatives.
  3. Develop and manage the creation of branded content, including digital and print articles and advertorials, to ensure consistent, high-quality, and strategically relevant media coverage.

Key Opinion Leader (KOL) & Ambassador Management

  1. Manage the strategy and execution for both external KOLs and internal ambassadors (Employee Ambassador Program).
  2. Ensure all external influencers and internal advocates promote brand messaging and product pride in alignment with the company's strategic priorities.
  3. Negotiate contracts, coordinate content creation, and monitor the performance of all ambassador activities, focusing on awareness, emotional connection, and product education.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  1. Act as the primary liaison between the Marketing team and internal stakeholders (Retail, Commercial, Digital, etc.) for all partnership and PR activities.
  2. Train and motivate store-level customer service managers and teams to effectively execute partnership campaigns and ambassador initiatives.

Reporting & Measurement

  1. Track, analyze, and report on all partnership, PR, and ambassador activities, focusing on KPIs related to media value, engagement, reach, and business impact (e.g., foot traffic or site referrals).

Key Performance Indicators

  1. Media & PR Impact
  2. Total Earned Media Value (EMV): The quantitative value of media coverage secured (articles, interviews, etc.).
  3. Number of High-Value Publications/Articles Secured (Digital & Print).
  4. Partnerships Performance
  5. Traffic: The measurable Traffic and Participation impact generated by key strategic partnerships and/or events.
  6. ROI: The measurable business impact generated, specific to TO-generating Partnerships
  7. Ambassador & KOL Effectiveness
  8. Total Ambassador-Driven Reach & Engagement: The combined social media performance of all internal and external advocates.
  9. Employee Ambassador Participation Rate & Retention: The percentage of employees actively involved in the internal program.
  10. Content Adherence Rate: The percentage of ambassador/KOL content that complies with brand guidelines.
  11. Brand Awareness
  12. Contribute to the total brand awareness of Decathlon in the Philippines (Kantar) through increase in Brand Communication Awareness.
  13. 75% - Exposed to a recent marketing campaign
  14. 28% - While searching, browsing, or reading on a website online
  15. 20% - In a paper magazine or newspaper

Capabilities & Skills

  1. Concrete Success and Previous Experience:Proven ability to build a long-term strategy while executing detailed, tactical Partnerships and PR Strategies accompanied by tangible results and recommendations.
  2. Data-driven Performance Tracking & Analysis: Skilled in using data analytics tools to monitor and analyze campaign performance; uses performance metrics and KPIs to optimize partnerships and PR efforts, with a deep understanding of the target audience to ensure campaigns are relevant and engaging.
  3. Functional Management: Proven ability to influence and manage staff across different departments or locations without direct reporting authority; Excellent teamwork skills with the flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions and priorities (collaboration and adaptability).
  4. Project Management: High-level organizational skills to manage complex, multi-channel campaigns effectively with quick problem-solving skills to address and resolve issues that may arise during campaign execution. Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to inform decisions; experience in managing marketing budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and maximizing ROI (Budget Management).
  5. Creativity and Innovation: A proven ability to think outside the box and develop partnerships that stand out in the market, frame brand stories and product launches into compelling narratives for the media and ambassadors that captures audience attention and differentiates the brand, together with the ability to adapt them to local best practices.
  6. Excellent Communication: Exceptional Negotiation & Communication with the ability to articulate deal value and manage relationships with senior external stakeholders.

  8. Excellent written and verbal communication (English).
