Part-Time Litigation Paralegal

Job Type: Part-Time (20 hours per week)

Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time

Salary: $550 per month

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Litigation Paralegal to help manage the day-to-day operations of our litigation practice. The ideal candidate will be the right hand to the principal attorney, ensuring that all procedural requirements are met, deadlines are tracked, and case files are meticulously maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calendaring & Deadline Management: Maintain the firm's master calendar using Clio and Google Calendar. Calculate and track statutory deadlines per the California Code of Civil Procedure (CCP).
  • Court Filing: Prepare and electronically file (e-file) pleadings, motions, and discovery in various California Superior Courts and Federal District Courts.
  • Document Preparation: Draft routine legal documents, including proofs of service, notices, subpoenas, and basic motions. Assist in the preparation of trial bundles and exhibit lists.
  • Legal Research & Discovery: Conduct preliminary legal research using Westlaw/LexisNexis. Assist with document review, production, and the drafting of discovery requests and responses.
  • Case Management: Maintain organized digital files within Clio, ensuring all communications and documents are properly logged and categorized.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal. Specific experience in Real Estate law (partition, breach of contract, title disputes) in California is highly preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Clio Manage/Grow and Microsoft Office Suite is mandatory. Comfort with e-filing portals (e.g., InfoTrack) preferred.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of California civil litigation procedures and court rules.

Note: An NBI or police clearance will be required upon acceptance of the job offer.
