The Paralegal Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the Corporate Paralegal team, ensuring that legal and corporate compliance matters are handled accurately, efficiently, and within prescribed timelines. The role provides technical guidance, reviews the quality of work produced by the team, coordinates with lawyers and government agencies, and ensures the smooth execution of corporate legal services.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily work of Corporate Paralegals and ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Provide guidance and support to team members on legal and corporate matters.
- Handle and oversee immigration-related applications and transactions.
- Manage corporate registrations, reportorial requirements, and other filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
- Oversee corporate housekeeping, share transfers, tax payments, and compliance with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
- Supervise real property transactions, permits, licenses, and other government requirements.
- Review and proofread legal documents before filing with the appropriate government agencies.
- Monitor the progress of all assigned work and ensure deadlines are met.
- Prepare and review documents for the Corporate Department.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching to staff.
- Coordinate with the Firm's lawyers and other departments as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Legal Management, Political Science, Paralegal Studies, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in corporate paralegal work, with 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
- Strong knowledge of Philippine corporate laws, government regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience handling transactions with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Bureau of Immigration, and local government units.
- Proficient in preparing and reviewing legal and corporate documents.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
