The Paralegal is responsible for providing legal and administrative support in labor relations, employee dispute resolution, and account collections. The role requires hands-on experience in handling SENA proceedings, NLRC cases, and coordination with external counsel, while ensuring timely follow-through on collections, documentation, and compliance with Philippine labor laws.
Key Responsibilities
Labor Relations & Case Management
- Assist in the preparation, filing, and monitoring of labor cases before NLRC, DOLE, and other labor tribunals.
- Handle SENA (Single Entry Approach) proceedings, including case intake, documentation, scheduling, and coordination with parties.
- Draft position papers, affidavits, pleadings, compromise agreements, and other legal documents related to labor disputes.
- Maintain and update case trackers, ensuring deadlines and hearing dates are properly monitored.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel and attend hearings, mediations, and conferences when required.
- Ensure proper documentation and safekeeping of legal records and case files.
Collections & Recovery
- Manage collection activities related to employee accountabilities, receivables, or client obligations arising from labor cases or contracts.
- Prepare demand letters, statements of account, and collection notices.
- Coordinate with clients, employees, and internal departments regarding payment arrangements and settlement agreements.
- Monitor compliance with settlement terms and escalate delinquencies when necessary.
Compliance & Documentation
- Assist in ensuring company compliance with labor laws, rules, and regulations.
- Support internal audits and legal reviews related to employment contracts, policies, and disciplinary actions.
- Organize and maintain legal databases, contracts, and compliance reports.
Administrative & Support Functions
- Provide general paralegal and administrative support to HR, Legal, and Management.
- Prepare reports, summaries, and status updates on ongoing cases and collections.
- Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Legal Management, Political Science, Business Administration, or related field.
- At least 12 years of experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant with exposure to:
SENA proceedings
NLRC labor cases
Collections and recovery
- Strong working knowledge of Philippine labor laws and procedures.
- Experience in manpower, recruitment, or HR-related legal work is an advantage.
