JOB DESCRIPTION:
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assist in all legal matters of the company
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Case Monitoring and Docket Management
- Maintain and monitor an updated docket of collection cases, judicial and extrajudicial foreclosure proceedings, small claims cases, and labor-related SENA matters.
- Track case status, hearing, and conference dates, filing deadlines, and court or agency issuances.
- Maintain calendars and send timely reminders to concerned internal teams, Holdings Legal, and external counsel.
Small Claims Case
- Assist in the preparation of Small Claims Statements of Claim, affidavits, certifications, and supporting annexes.
- Compile loan documents, account ledgers, demand letters, and proof of default for small claims filings.
- Coordinate filing, service of summons, and compliance with court requirements.
Attend Small Claims hearings and conferences, as authorized by management or SjGI Legal, for purposes of: Case Monitoring, Coordination with court personnel
- Relaying developments and outcomes to the ____ and the SJGI Legal and External Lawyers/Retainers
- Prepare post-hearing summaries and case status updates.
FORECLOSURE AND COLLECTION SUPPORT
- Assist in preparing and organizing foreclosure-related documents, including notices of default, applications for foreclosure, and affidavits of publication or posting.
- Coordinate with notaries, sheriffs, registries of deeds, and external retainers for foreclosure proceedings.
- Monitor timelines for redemption periods, consolidation of ownership, and issuance of certificates of sale.
SENA (Single Entry Approach) Procedures
- Assist in the preparation of documents and position summaries for DOLE SENA conferences involving labor-related disputes connected to collections, operations, or support functions.
- Attend SENA conferences, as authorized, to assist in documentation, coordination, and note-taking.
- Record discussions, agreements, or unresolved issues during SENA proceedings and promptly report outcomes to SJGI Legal and External Lawyers/Retainers.
- Coordinate follow-up actions arising from SENA conferences.
LIAISON WITH SJGI LEGAL EXTERNAL RETAINERS
- Act as liaison between the company, SJGI Legal Team, and external legal retainers handling collections, foreclosure, small claims, and related disputes.
- Transmit case updates, documents, and instructions, and follow up on required filings and actions.
- Assist in scheduling case conferences and coordinating case strategies as directed.
LEGAL RECORDS AND REPORTING
- Maintain organized physical and electronic files for all recovery, small claims, foreclosure, and SENA matters.
- Ensure completeness and proper documentation and pleadings, court orders, SENA records, and correspondence.
- Assist in preparing periodic case status and recover reports for final review.
ADMINISTRATIVE AND LEGAL SUPPORT
- Assist inn drafting routine legal correspondence and internal memoranda related to recovery and dispute resolution.
- Conduct basic legal research on procedural rules for small claims, foreclosure and SENA proceedings.
- Perform other legal support tasks related to collections as may be assigned.
EDUCATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Legal Management, Political Science, Business Administration, or any related course.
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
EXPERIENCE:
- 0-1 year experience in a paralegal or legal assistant role is an advantage but not required.
- Exposure to small claims, foreclosure, collections, or SENA proceedings is a plus.
