General Responsibilities

Market Risk Management & Principal Trading

  • Book Management: Actively manage the desk's proprietary inventory and positions resulting from client flows. Ensure strict adherence to the principle that client buys are hedged via dealer sells (and vice versa).
  • Hedging & Execution: Optimize LHS and RHS (buy and sell) commercial flows to ensure the desk is capital efficient. Execute timely hedging trades in the interbank/market to neutralize exposure from client transactions, minimizing slippage and market impact.
  • Risk Monitoring: Monitor intraday P&L, inventory positions hedges, Value at Risk (VaR), and position limits. Proactively alert senior treasury personnel to potential breaches or volatile market conditions.
  • Market Analysis: Keep abreast of macroeconomic news, currency/crypto flows (as applicable), and technical levels to inform trading decisions and risk positioning.

Client Sales & Trade Execution

  • Quoting & Pricing: Provide accurate, competitive, and timely two-way quotes to internal and external clients across assigned asset classes.
  • Order Handling: Manage client order flow from inquiry to execution, ensuring Best Execution standards are met while capturing appropriate spreads for the desk.
  • Market Color: Disseminate daily market updates, commentary, and trading insights to clients to drive engagement and volume.
  • Relationship Support: Act as the primary point of contact for the desk's client base, ensuring seamless coverage during market hours.

Operational & Analytical Support

  • Trade Lifecycle: Ensure all trades are booked accurately and in a timely manner in the operations management system. Resolve any settlement or booking discrepancies immediately.
  • Reporting: Assist in the generation of End-of-Day (EOD) P&L reports, volume analysis, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • System Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance of trading tools, spreadsheets, and pricing models used by the desk.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in a Treasury, Global Markets, or FX Trading environment. Specific experience at a Crypto Exchange (CEX), OTC Desk, or Crypto Prop Firm is highly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of the Digital Asset ecosystem, including market structure (Spot vs. Derivatives), stablecoin mechanics (USDT/USDC), and key liquidity venues.
  • Strong working knowledge of Crypto Derivatives, specifically Perpetual Swaps (Perps), Futures, and Options.
  • Understanding of critical crypto-trading concepts such as Funding Rates, Basis Trading, Margin Management (Cross vs. Isolated), and Leverage.
  • Ability to interpret risk parameters specific to derivatives and general portfolio risk (drawdown, liquidation levels).
  • Proficiency with major crypto exchanges and institutional execution platforms. Experience with Aggregators or EMS/OMS is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel is mandatory. Proficiency in Python or SQL is strongly preferred for analyzing on-chain data or automating execution via APIs.
  • Familiarity with TradingView, CoinGecko, Glassnode, or similar crypto-analytics tools.
  • Willingness to monitor positions and react to market-moving news outside traditional banking hours when necessary.
  • Ability to switch rapidly between Sales Mode (client-first approach) and Trader Mode (hedging delta exposure and managing market and/or liquidity risk).
  • High tolerance for the extreme volatility characteristic of crypto markets.
