Purpose of the Role
The OTC Operations Director leads the global Order-to-Cash (O2C) function across RELX divisions (Elsevier, Legal, Risk, Exhibitions), covering five core activities: Credit (Re-)Assessment, Credit Control, Cash Allocation, Receivables Monitoring, and Bad Debt Management.
This role ensures consistent execution aligned with Global Process Ownership (GPO) standards and regional leadership, driving operational excellence across a global revenue base of $10B annually.
The Director plays a critical role in optimizing cash flow, minimizing bad debt, supporting commercial growth, and transforming OTC processes through automation, data analytics, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop global OTC teams, ensuring clear accountability, strong capability building, and continuous learning.
- Drive operational excellence, ensuring KPIs/KPOs are consistently achieved and exceeded.
- Own delivery of cash conversion targets, reduction of overdue balances, and minimization of bad debt.
- Champion process standardization, optimization, and automation across regions and divisions.
- Leverage data and analytics to monitor performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
- Act as escalation point for complex customer issues and ensure timely, effective resolution.
- Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders across Sales, Finance, Customer Service, Legal, and external partners.
- Support and drive global OTC transformation initiatives, ensuring strong regional engagement and execution.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and governance frameworks.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree holder
- 8+ years of leadership experience in OTC operations.
- Proven track record in transforming and optimizing global OTC processes.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to link OTC performance to business outcomes.
- Experience in multinational, matrixed organizations with global process ownership exposure.
- Deep understanding of ERP systems and automation technologies.
- Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior levels.
- Strong project and change management experience across cross-functional teams.
- Effective people leader with a focus on coaching, development, and engagement.
