The OT Data Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining data models specific to Operational Technology (OT) environments, supporting the integration of data from sensor platforms to internal and external systems, and real-time dashboards. This role requires a deep understanding of both OT and IT environments, with a focus on ensuring seamless data flow, high data integrity, and actionable insights from industrial data.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on OT environments, sensor data, and industrial control systems.
- 2 year's proven experience with historian system (AVEVA PI System Historian and real-time data analytics in industrial settings. Preferable AVEVA Pi System, Pi SDK, Pi WebAPI, PiVision.
- General business experience in the oil & gas industry, preferably with drilling contractor.
- Strong proficiency in Data Engineering, OT data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration techniques.
- Knowledgeable in certain programming languages (.Net Language, C/C++, HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery, Java, NodeRed)
- Visual Graphic Design (PiVision, REACT, Grafana, UI and UX Design, Product Packaging and Booth/Product Display Design).
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices in OT.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, Azure, API, Python, Power Automate, ETL data processes preferable
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Design and implement scalable and robust data models tailored for OT environments, specifically focusing on data generated by industrial sensors and control systems.
- Develop and maintain data integration pipelines (e.g. API, Python, C#, Javascript) to support seamless flow of data between OT sensor platform and internal/external systems.
- Work closely with IT and OT teams to facilitate data integration that supports both operational needs and business intelligence ensuring reliability, security, and integrity of data.
- Collaborate with OT and business teams to understand the specific requirements of sensor data and translate these into effective data models.
- Support the development of dashboards in PiVision for real time performance monitoring and daily reporting.
- Ensure the historian systems are optimized for high-performance data retrieval and are capable of handling large volumes of data generated by OT environments.
- Create and maintain real-time dashboards that provide critical insights from OT data, enabling quick decision-making and operational efficiency. (PiVision)
- Work with stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics specific to OT environments, ensuring dashboards meet the needs of various operational roles.
- Assist application, development and support as required to develop, test, and publish system updates.
- Continuously optimize Noble's Industrial Data Management systems.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
