Position Accountability Statement
We are seeking a Oracle Documaker Developer to design, develop, and maintain high-volume document generation solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of document automationfrom designing complex forms and layouts to configuring the underlying rules engine and integrating with upstream data sources. You will ensure that our transactional documents (policies, statements, notices) are accurate, compliant, and delivered efficiently across multiple channels (Print, Email, Web).
Job Responsibilities
Template Design & Development
- Design and maintain complex document templates using Documaker Studio.
- Create and manage Section (FAP) files, Graphics, and Font cross-reference tables.
- Implement conditional logic and data-driven formatting to ensure documents adapt to various business scenarios.
Configuration & Implementation
- Configure and maintain Documaker Library (MRL) environments.
- Develop and tune Rules (DAL - Document Automation Language) to handle data mapping, calculations, and conditional processing.
- Manage the INI configurations and Environment Variables for Batch and Real-time processing.
- Deployment to production environment and other lower environments.
Data Integration & Extraction
- Work with various input formats including XML, Flat Files, and V2 Extract files.
- Collaborate with backend developers to map data from source systems (Oracle Fusion, ORMB, OHI, MyElth, etc.) into the Documaker extract layout.
- Configure output distributions (PCL, PDF, PostScript, and HTML).
Support & Optimization
- Troubleshoot and resolve document rendering issues and data mapping errors.
- Performance tune the Documaker engine for high-volume batch processing.
- Assist with version upgrades (e.g., migrating from older versions to Documaker Enterprise Edition/ODEE).
- Service Desk Plus ticket handling.

Professional Qualification
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in Documaker development.
- Experience in the Insurance or Financial Services industry is a plus.
- Familiarity with Oracle WebLogic or other Java Application Servers.
- Knowledge of document archive systems or CCM (Customer Communications Management) best practices.
- Experience with Java or C++ (for custom functional exits).
Technical Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle Documaker Studio and/or Documaker Desktop.
- Strong proficiency in DAL (Document Automation Language).
- Familiarity with Documaker Enterprise Edition (ODEE) and its web-based components.
- Deep understanding of XML, XPATH, and Flat-file structures.
- Must have experience deploying/running Documaker in Windows Server or Linux/Unix environments.
- Basic SQL skills to query data sources and understand Documaker's internal tracking tables.
- Willingness to be retool and learn new technologies.
Soft Skills

- Able to work with Business Analysts to turn legal/compliance or business requirements into technical templates.
