Oracle Database Administrator

We are looking for a highly skilled Oracle Database Administrator with strong foundational DBA expertise to join our team in a role that blends traditional database administration with modern cloud technologies. While this position specifically involves managing AWS RDS environments, a solid Oracle DBA background is essential. As an Oracle/Cloud DBA, you will leverage your Oracle expertise and AWS database management skills to optimize the creation, deployment, and operation of database technologies across global production and non-production systems. This role supports critical customer applications that must maintain 24x7 availability with a 99.99% uptime goal.

Responsibilities:

• Automate the creation of standard database configurations for multiple platforms, including Oracle (primary), Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server.
• Maintain, support, and upgrade database systems as required.
• Coordinate mandatory version upgrades with AWS.
• Assist development teams with migrations between database platforms (e.g., Oracle to Postgres).
• Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize queries.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rotation.
• Manage capacity decisions for production deployments, including technology selection, high availability configuration, storage, and compute needs.
• Gain exposure to non-relational databases such as DocumentDB, DynamoDB, Apache Solr, Cassandra, Redis, etc.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum 23 years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience (core skill requirement).
• Familiarity with AWS RDS or willingness to learn cloud database systems.
• Strong understanding of relational database concepts and performance tuning.
