Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in Oracle database technologies and hands-on experience with Ansible automation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, performance tuning, backup, recovery, security, and automation of Oracle database environments. This role will play a key part in improving operational efficiency through infrastructure and database automation.
Key Responsibilities
Oracle Database Administration
- Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain Oracle Database environments.
- Administer Oracle databases across Development, Test, UAT, and Production environments.
- Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Configure and manage Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and RMAN environments.
- Perform database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning and testing.
- Implement database security standards, user access controls, and compliance requirements.
- Manage database storage, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents, outages, and service requests.
Automation & Configuration Management
- Design, develop, and maintain Ansible playbooks for database provisioning, patching, configuration management, and operational tasks.
- Automate Oracle database deployment, maintenance, health checks, and monitoring processes.
- Standardize database administration activities through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
- Integrate Ansible automation with CI/CD pipelines and enterprise deployment tools.
- Develop reusable automation frameworks and documentation.
System & Infrastructure Support
- Collaborate with Linux/Unix administrators, cloud engineers, and application teams.
- Support Oracle databases hosted on on-premises and cloud platforms.
- Implement high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
- Participate in capacity planning and infrastructure optimization initiatives.
- Support production releases and maintenance activities during planned windows.
Documentation & Governance
- Maintain database architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and automation documentation.
- Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and enforce DBA best practices and standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
- Strong experience administering Oracle Database 12c, 19c, and above.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Oracle RAC
- Oracle ASM
- Oracle Data Guard
- Oracle RMAN
- Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
- Minimum 2+ years of experience developing and maintaining Ansible playbooks.
- Strong Linux/Unix administration knowledge.
- Experience with shell scripting (Bash, Python, or Perl).
- Knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification.
- Experience with Oracle Exadata environments.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of DevOps methodologies and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Experience with Git, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with container platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with monitoring tools and observability platforms.

Work Schedule
Employees will be expected to adhere to a flexible hybrid work schedule, with a required presence in the office for 2 days per week, allowing for customization of work hours within a specified morning or mid-shift time frame.
