KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
You will:
- Manage and administer Oracle database environments across cloud platforms, including installation, configuration, testing, maintenance, upgrades, and patching.
- Monitor and optimize database performance to ensure reliability, scalability, and high availability of business-critical applications.
- Perform database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures in accordance with organizational policies and SLAs.
- Troubleshoot database performance issues, system incidents, and operational concerns, providing timely resolutions and recommendations.
- Write and maintain Bash and SQL scripts to automate routine database administration and operational tasks.
- Support staging and production environments through database import/export activities, migrations, and version deployments.
- Maintain database security by implementing encryption, key management, and security best practices aligned with compliance standards such as PCI requirements.
- Install, test, and evaluate new database technologies, features, and product releases to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct database benchmarking, stress testing, and performance tuning exercises to improve system efficiency and scalability.
- Monitor cloud Database as a Service (DBaaS) environments and support related technologies such as PostgreSQL and Kafka when required.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, development, and operations teams to support project deployments and ensure smooth system integration.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, operational procedures, and incident reports for audit and knowledge-sharing purposes.
- Proactively identify risks, system vulnerabilities, and opportunities for optimization to minimize downtime and improve operational stability.
- Follow operational standards, security protocols, and change management procedures to maintain secure and compliant database services.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Preferably holds a university degree in Computing, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Oracle certification is an advantage.
- Must have at least 4 years of hands-on experience in Oracle Database Administration.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle database installation, configuration, maintenance, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.
- Experience working with Oracle multi-tenant architecture, database encryption, and security management.
- Proficient in Bash scripting and SQL.
- Experience administering database environments on Unix/Linux platforms.
- Exposure to cloud-based Database as a Service (DBaaS) environments is required; experience with PostgreSQL or Kafka is considered an advantage.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex database and system issues.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in mission-critical and fast-paced environments.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Must possess good written and spoken English communication skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently or within highly collaborative teams
Work Schedule: Morning Shift, 8:30am – 5:30 pm
Work Setup: Hybrid, 3 days onsite – 2 days work from home
