Optical & IP Engineers(L1)

Role Purpose

Provide technical leadership for optical transport services and ensure operational excellence across the optical network domain.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor alarms and events using NMS tools.
• Acknowledge and triage incidents.
• Execute standard operating procedures.
• Perform first-level diagnosis.
• Create and update tickets.
• Communicate incident updates to customers.
• Coordinate with vendors and field teams.
• Escalate unresolved issues to L2 teams.
• Support shift handoffs and reporting.

Required Technical Skills

• BTI PVX Carrier Ethernet platform (ERPS)
• Nokia SDH Platform (16xx family)
• Nokia SDH Platform (16xx family)
• Nokia PSS (ROADM and optical transport)
• Ekinops WDM and some ROADM
• Dialogic Media gateways (TDM-IP conversion)
• Dialogic Control switch
• DWDM/CWDM
• SDH/SONET

Experience

• 2 to 4 years in optical network operations.
• Experience in carrier-grade environments.
