Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and highly responsible Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our funeral service business. The Operations Manager will ensure that all funeral services, memorial arrangements, and facility operations are conducted smoothly, professionally, and with the highest level of care for grieving families.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising staff, coordinating funeral arrangements, maintaining operational standards, and ensuring that all services are delivered with dignity, respect, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the funeral home, chapel, crematory, and related services.
  • Coordinate and supervise funeral services, wakes, memorial services, burials, and cremations.
  • Manage operational staff including funeral assistants, drivers, service personnel, and support staff.
  • Ensure all funeral arrangements are executed according to the family's requests and company standards.
  • Maintain the readiness and cleanliness of facilities, vehicles, and service equipment.
  • Coordinate schedules for services, transportation, and staff assignments.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies.
  • Handle operational concerns and resolve issues professionally and promptly.
  • Work closely with sales counselors, customer service staff, and management to ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Monitor operational performance and implement improvements to increase efficiency and service quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in operations management, preferably in funeral services, hospitality, healthcare, or service-oriented industries.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and coordination abilities.
  • Compassionate and professional demeanor when dealing with bereaved families.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays when services require.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and operational reporting.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in funeral service operations or memorial service coordination.
  • Knowledge of funeral service protocols and service planning.
  • Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills.
