We are seeking a high-performing, outcome-obsessed Operations Manager to lead our Main Plant Operations division. As the Operations Manager, you will hold ultimate accountability for the effective, safe, and economical operation of our 2x150 MW coal-fired power plant. Your primary focus will be ensuring efficient and reliable electric power generation while strictly maintaining standard operating procedures and environmental safety compliance across the Main Plant, Chemical, and Coal Handling departments.
Job Qualifications
- Education: A bachelor's degree in Engineering—preferably Mechanical (ME), Electrical (EE), or Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE)
- License: Must be a Registered Engineer (ME, EE, ECE). Holding a Professional License (PME or PEE) is a highly distinct advantage
- Experience: At least 5 years of technical and managerial experience within a power generation company, ideally dealing with a Coal-Fired Power Plant environment
Key Accountabilities & Duties
Plant Management & Optimization
- Evaluate and analyze critical plant operating parameters, equipment status, and overall conditions to optimize continuous unit operations
- Monitor compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) through regular inspections, validations, and systematic reviews
- Collaborate across departments to drive process improvements, system upgrades, and target reliability/availability goals
Strategic Planning & Budgeting
- Lead operational planning and budgeting processes, ensuring that programs are executed on schedule and within financial parameters
- Analyze periodic reports to recommend the strategic realignment of resources and priorities
People Leadership & Development
- Oversee talent screening, selection, coaching, performance evaluation, and training for direct and indirect reports
- Cultivate a results-driven culture by implementing formal rewards and tracking key performance metrics
EHS & Regulatory Compliance
- Enforce rigorous Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies and ensure the workplace meets all regulatory compliance standards
Key Technical & Leadership Competencies
- Advanced Asset Management: Expertise in plant system performance management, equipment control systems (PLC/DCS), and root cause failure analysis (RCFA)
- Results-Focused Leadership: Ability to monitor spending against returns, set critical KPIs, and anticipate policy impacts on long-term growth
- Process Orientation: Expert-level capability in designing operational standards to minimize or completely eradicate process errors
