Location: Toa Payoh factory, Singapore (on-site, factory floor)

Reports to: CEO

Employment type: Full-time

About the Role

Presto runs a busy dry-cleaning and laundry factory that serves customers across Singapore every day. We are looking for an Operations Manager to take full ownership of how the factory floor runs - production flow, manpower, standards, discipline, and the cleanliness and order of the workplace - so that quality and turnaround stay consistent however busy we get.

The Operations Manager leads daily factory production at Presto, making sure all garments are sorted, processed, and ready on time. You will work closely with management and ground staff to spot problems early and turn them into practical fixes. This is a hands-on role on the factory floor: you will both plan and run the floor, think clearly, act early, and follow through without being told.

What You Will Be Doing

Production & manpower

  • Ensure the sorting and packing operations run smoothly and output is ready on time

  • Allocate manpower based on daily volume spot shortages early and decide when overtime is needed

  • Reprioritize stations when manpower is constrained

  • Ensure all agreed process changes and new SOPs are carried out, and follow up daily on compliance (e.g. colour testing, QC checks)

Cleanliness, order & discipline

  • Keep the factory clean, tidy, and well-organized at all times - own housekeeping and floor order (e.g. 5S routines) as a daily habit, not a one-off

  • Conduct regular walk-throughs to maintain workplace cleanliness, order, and safety

  • Maintain discipline across a multilingual workforce and hold staff firmly to standards

People & communication

  • Resolve staff conflicts fairly and early, before they affect the work

  • Act as the communication bridge between management and ground staff

  • Keep team morale stable without compromising standards

Problem-solving

  • Use CCTV and data to identify mistakes and recurring operational issues

  • Investigate root causes before proposing solutions, and present structured problem statements to management

What You Bring to the Role

  • Experience leading a production line, factory floor, or operations team

  • Strong sense of ownership - takes full responsibility for outcomes, follows through without supervision, and treats production targets as long-term commitments rather than daily firefighting

  • A track record of running a clean, orderly, well-disciplined floor

  • Ability to plan manpower and reprioritize under pressure

  • A calm, fair approach to discipline and conflict resolution

  • Comfortable leading and communicating across a multilingual team - Mandarin important Malay, Vietnamese, or Burmese an advantage

  • Structured problem-solver who looks for root causes, not quick patches

  • Hands-on and present on the floor - leads from the front, not behind a desk

  • Self-driven and independent, with high personal standards and strong attention to detail

  • Production flows smoothly and garments are ready on time, even on high-volume days

  • The factory is clean, tidy, and well-organized every day - without anyone having to chase it

  • Staff are disciplined, productive, and clear on what is expected conflicts are resolved early and fairly

  • Standards hold consistently, without constant oversight from the owner
