About The Role

We are hiring an Operations Associate to ensure the business runs smoothly, efficiently, and in sync as we scale.

This is not a traditional admin or support role. We are specifically looking for someone who wants to grow into an Operations Manager and play a key role in how the business runs over time.

This role sits at the centre of the business — working across recruitment, marketing, finance, and internal operations — ensuring that everything connects and moves forward effectively.

At UCM, recruitment is the core driver of the business.

Your role is to support and strengthen the operational side of that engine — ensuring processes are efficient, teams are aligned, and activity translates into results.

You will be expected to think beyond tasks — understanding how your work impacts business performance, output, and results across the company.

You will work across them, ensuring that workflows, systems, and execution remain consistent and effective.

This role operates across multiple areas of the business, with the level of involvement in each function depending on business needs and team structure.

As different departments grow and strengthen, your focus will shift accordingly — providing more support where needed, while maintaining overall operational alignment and efficiency.

What You'll Be Focused On

Your role is to: Keep the business running smoothly by ensuring all functions are aligned, efficient, and operating at a high standard.

You will also be expected to take ownership of improving how work flows across the business — not just maintaining processes, but helping improve them over time.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting the day-to-day operational flow of the recruitment function (systems, coordination, tracking, follow-through)
  • Ensuring candidate pipelines, workflows, and internal processes remain organised and efficient
  • Coordinating across recruitment, marketing, and operations to ensure activity is aligned and effective
  • Supporting marketing and recruitment alignment (e.g. adverts, applications, response flow)
  • Maintaining and improving internal systems (CRMs, trackers, workflows)
  • Identifying bottlenecks across the business and taking action to resolve them
  • Supporting onboarding and internal coordination processes
  • Stepping in where needed to maintain continuity across teams
  • Supporting execution of internal projects and operational improvements
  • Ensuring clear, structured communication across teams
  • Taking initiative and ownership in identifying ways to improve efficiency, structure, and execution across the business

This role is about ensuring activity turns into outcomes, not just keeping tasks moving.

Commercial Awareness

You are not responsible for generating revenue, but you should:

  • Understand how recruitment activity drives business performance
  • Recognise how operations impacts placements, speed, and output
  • Prioritise work that supports efficiency and results
  • Identify where breakdowns in process may affect performance
  • Understand how strong operations supports business growth, team performance, and client delivery

  • Exposure to recruitment, staffing, or service-based businesses
  • Experience supporting multiple teams or functions
  • Exposure to fast-paced operational environments where priorities shift regularly
