Job Description

The Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Officer manages all solar asset activities, including preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and panel cleaning. This role oversees personnel by managing work schedules, conducting training, and ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.

Additionally, the O&M Officer aligns site performance with budgetary goals, conducts performance reviews, and serves as a technical leader to ensure all field procedures are executed with precision and compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Team Leadership

· Manage technician schedules and daily assignments to optimize site coverage and minimize delays.

· Enforce strict safety compliance through regular training and rigorous adherence to electrical protocols.

· Drive accountability by setting clear goal and managing personnel actions.

· Serve as a lead technical resource, providing hands-on coaching to ensure high-quality troubleshooting and repairs.

Cleaning & Electrical Maintenance & Execution

  • Supervise the execution of preventive tasks, including electrical testing, grounding verification, and systematic panel cleaning.
  • Direct all corrective maintenance actions for major assets like inverters, breakers, and solar arrays to ensure rapid recovery.
  • Ensure all electrical installations and repairs adhere to local electrical codes and standards.
  • Ensure all the solar array are cleaned all cables are harnessed.
  • Audit all service reports and digital logs to ensure every maintenance activity is accurately recorded and documented.
  • Ensure to have a Weekly and Closed-Activity Report, provide to Sr./O&M Engineer.

On-Site Troubleshooting & Repair

  • Diagnose and pinpoint electrical and mechanical faults within the solar PV system.
  • Utilize standard electrician diagnostic tools (multimeters, clamp meters, megohmmeters, thermal imagers) for fault isolation and verification.
  • Troubleshoot and repair basic faults in on-site monitoring and communication wiring/hardware.
  • Perform comprehensive system operational checks (voltage, current, power output) post-repair to confirm full functionality.

Safety Compliance & Implementation

  • Strictly implement and adhere to all electrical and site safety procedures, especially Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols, working at heights, and proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage.
  • Conduct on-site Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) for every activity.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area at all times.
  • Immediately report to Sr./O&M Engineer all safety incidents, near misses, or hazardous conditions.

Field Reporting & Documentation

  • Accurately complete all field service reports, work orders, and maintenance checklists, noting specific electrical measurements and repairs made.
  • Document time spent, parts/materials used (e.g., cable, lugs, fuses), and system readings taken.
  • Provide timely and accurate feedback on repair status and activity to the Sr./O&M Engineer.

Site Coordination & Equipment Management

  • Manage and secure all necessary activity permits in direct collaboration with the client.
  • Maintain a professional and service-oriented demeanor when interacting with client representatives.
  • Maintain assigned electrical tools, test equipment, and calibration status.
  • Coordinate with O&M Technicians for basic vehicle stock inventory for common electrical and PV components.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • At least a Vocational/Technical Certificate, TESDA NC II/III, or Diploma in Electrical Installation & Maintenance, Industrial Electricity, or related field. A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Bachelor of Electrical Technology is welcomed but not required.
  • 2–4 years of electrical maintenance experience, preferably in the solar industry or building electrical systems.
  • Valid, active Electrical License (e.g., Registered Master Electrician or Registered Electrical Engineer) is highly preferred.
  • Proven proficiency in all aspects of electrical installation, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting up to AC/DC line voltage.
  • Working knowledge of solar photovoltaic system components (panels, inverters, battery) is essential, and a strong advantage.
  • Proficient in using electrical diagnostic tools and understanding electrical diagrams.
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Willing to be assigned on-site around the Philippines.
  • Driver License and can drive is a plus.
