Operational Risk Officer

The Operational Risk Officer is responsible for helping and challenging the first line of defense in identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating operational risks across the organization. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, develops risk frameworks, and partners with business units to implement effective risk controls and strategies.

Risk Identification & Assessment:

• Challenge and advise 1lod in risk assessments to identify potential operational risks across processes, systems, and third-party relationships.
• Evaluate and monitor the proper implementation of the New Products Approval Process (NPAP) and report noncompliance to the Head of Operational Risk and Chief Risk Officer.

Risk Monitoring & Reporting:

• Develop and implement key risk indicators (KRIs) and dashboards for ongoing monitoring.
• Provide timely updates, reports, and recommendations to the Head of Operational Risk and Chief Risk Officer in all operational risk matters.

Policy & Framework Development:

• Design and maintain operational risk management policies, procedures, and frameworks aligned with industry best practices.
• Ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulatory requirements.

Incident Management:

• Oversee root cause analysis for operational risk events and recommend corrective actions.
• Track remediation plans and ensure timely resolution.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Collaborate with business units to embed risk awareness and controls into daily operations.
• Provide training and guidance on operational risk management practices.
• Inspire and provide mentorship, training, and proactive leadership to the Designated Compliance and Operational Risk Officers (DCOROs) in the 1st Line of Defense.
