Job Description
An Operational Risk Business Manager oversees day-to-day risk controls, compliance frameworks, and loss mitigation strategies to protect a company from operational failures, fraud, or process breakdowns.
Key Responsibilities
- Framework Implementation: Roll out operational risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures across business units.
- Risk Assessments: Lead processes like Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) to spot vulnerabilities.
- Incident & Loss Tracking: Monitor operational loss events, track incident data, and build Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
- Reporting: Prepare executive and board-level risk reports for senior management and risk committees.
- Stakeholder Support: Advise departments on root-cause analysis, issue resolution, and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 5 to 10+ years of working background in risk management, banking operations, internal audit, or compliance.
- Familiarity with risk frameworks (such as Basel or COSO) and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tools.
- Preferred credentials include CRISC, CISA, FRM, or professional ORM certifications.
- Strong analytical capabilities, executive communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional leadership.
