ABOUT THE ROLE
The Operational Consultant handles the completion of policy bookings and dispatch of policy documentation and risk management reports. The consultant is also expected to handle the following:
- Initiate system corrections such as reversal and re-raise.
- Set up new customers and quotations in policy management system.
- Handle the administration of new broker accounts.
- Perform various reporting tasks for the underwriting team.
- Process underwriting transactions including, but not limited to, endorsements, new business/renewal quotes data entry, lapses/cancellations, and customer requests.
- Support customers in answering written general policy queries and escalate customer queries via email as necessary.
- Upon demonstrating proficiency and capability, gradually assume responsibility for handling customer phone calls, including routine inquiries and basic information requests, directing calls to appropriate departments, or helping during peak times or in the absence of key staff members.
- Provide timely response to broker enquiries as received in writing.
- Assist in renewal amendments including alteration to auto renewals, within delegated authority limits.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in compliance with relevant statutory and industry requirements and codes.
- Provide inputs to refine or improve standardized processes to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate process delivery.
- Update necessary documentation (e.g., checklists, templates, process maps, manuals) for all functions in accordance with the agreed scope of services.
- Proactively engage and assist to deliver, execute, and implement various standardization, centralization, and continuous improvement projects and initiatives aligned with key priorities.
- Other ad hoc and/or required deliverables.
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study.
- Minimum of 12 months experience in customer service support in an insurance, financial services, or business process outsourcing environment. Prior experience in shared service operations and with offshore teams will be an advantage.
- High attention to detail and following processes.
- Strong customer focus and drive.
- Strong computer and numeracy skills, with the ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Committed and highly keen to progress both in career and role.
- Eager to take full responsibility and accountability for tasks assigned. Ability to work with a high performing team in meeting goals/objectives, timelines and goals, a strong team player.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
