Operating Room Nurse

The Opportunity

This is more than bedside nursing. As an Operating Room Nurse at The Medical City Iloilo, you will play a vital role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care for every patient.

You will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the surgical team to prepare patients, assist during procedures, maintain sterile techniques, and ensure that every surgical intervention is carried out safely and efficiently.

What You'll Actually Do

• Provide perioperative care: Prepare and care for patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Support surgical procedures: Perform scrub and/or circulating nurse duties as assigned.
• Maintain patient safety: Ensure proper surgical counts, sterile techniques, infection control, and adherence to safety protocols.
• Prepare the OR: Ensure surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies are complete and ready for procedures.
• Work as a team: Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Ensure continuity of care: Accurately document patient care and provide proper endorsements after procedures.

Who You Are

• A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent.
• A Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid PRC license.
• Preferably with one to two years experience in an Operating Room or Surgical setting.
• Knowledge of scrub and circulating nurse functions is an advantage.
• Strong in clinical judgment, teamwork, communication, and critical thinking.
• Able to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
• Willing to work on shifting schedules, weekends, and holidays.
