The Data Quality Intmd Analyst is a developing professional role. Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information. Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.
Responsibilities:- Responsible for coordinating control activities for the reconciliations and proof functions performed daily by the group.
- Analyze consumption data demand and requirements
- Perform data quality analysis and identify data challenges
- Participate in data quality resolution and data improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with other areas of the firm to understand data challenges and solutions
- Conduct variance analysis on data quality improvement
- Deliver metrics reporting on data quality issues and resolution
- Participate in project management activities
- Prepare meeting materials and updates for management and consumers
- Implement and reinforce strong adherence to the standard operational, risk and control processes as it relates to Full Suite-Genesis Operating Model
- Manage and lead junior to intermediate level team members.
- Perform daily trend analysis of Operational Matching exception reports
- Review Operational Matching exceptions (SGL orphans) and investigate root cause of new exceptions
- Identify both tactical and strategic remediation to resolve Operational Matching exceptions (SGL orphans)
- Execute tactical data remediation of data quality issues in Full Suite in adherence to existing governance and controls framework
- Identify appropriate strategic remediation of data quality issues
- Perform end-to-end requirements management and end-to-end testing of Full Suite change requests as it relates to strategic remediation of data quality issues
- Raise DCRM (Data Concern Remediation Management) form where identified as the strategic remediation path, and monitor delivery of such
- Manage and address data quality queries/issues on Full Suite-Genesis production data through proper acknowledgement and timely feedback to data users
- Conduct second-level investigation on medium to complex data quality queries/issues on Full Suite-Genesis production data and propose resolution path (both tactical and strategic)
- Escalate timely to appropriate resolver groups, e.g. technology teams, if data investigation requires expertise outside of the team, and follow through accordingly.
- Effectively manage escalations from different stakeholders, and establish and manage partnership with key business counterparts: within Finance Chief Data Office (FCDO), GFTS Technology teams, and Finance & Risk Shared Services (FRSS)
- Prepare and communicate production support related operational metrics and KPIs within Data Services
- Manage, lead and support small to medium projects and initiatives related to data services such as but not limited to process reviews and process efficiency enabler implementation
- Supervise junior to intermediate level team members, support team collaboration, career growth, and mentorship.
Qualifications:- 4+ Years of Data Management Experience, Analytical skills, problem solving, basic computer skills
- Solid analytical skills, combined with an ability to deliver analyses in a concise and logical manner
- Logical and analytical data tracing/mining experience is a plus
- Knowledge of research methods, relational database or data relation discipline problem solving
- Intermediate to advance working knowledge and experience on MS Suite Applications especially around MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access
- SQL knowledge is highly preferred
- Knowledge of bank product/s (Deposits, Loans, Securities, Derivatives, etc.) is preferred
- Knowledge of Citi's financial and regulatory reporting processes, finance and risk systems including GENESIS, Full Suite, Product Processors, General Ledgers, Reporting Ledgers is preferred
- Knowledge of similar Quality Assurance / Citi Lean / Process Improvement practices (as applied to data quality operations)
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving (error detection, root cause analysis, error correction), conceptual, analytical and decision making skills
- Good verbal and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills - must be able to present and influence across organization level and functions
- Good project / time management and organizational skills good attention to details
- Self-starter, proactive, quick learner, customer-focused with ability to independently manage work and drive multiple deliverables concurrently in a fast paced changing environment
- High caliber team player with good judgment, flexibility and productivity with good track record in establishing partnership and team work
