Job Objective
To provide quality occupational health and nursing services to employees, promote workplace health and wellness, respond to medical emergencies, maintain accurate medical records, and support the company's occupational safety and health programs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Employee Medical Services
- Provide first aid and basic nursing care to employees and visitors.
- Conduct initial assessment of employees reporting to the clinic.
- Monitor vital signs and provide appropriate nursing interventions within the scope of practice.
- Refer employees to the OH Physician, hospital, or appropriate healthcare provider when necessary.
- Assist in managing workplace injuries and occupational illnesses.
- Monitor employees with medical conditions requiring regular follow-up.
2. Occupational Health Programs
- Assist the OH Physician in implementing the company's occupational health programs.
- Support Annual Physical Examination (APE), pre-employment medical examinations, and other medical assessments.
- Maintain health surveillance records for employees exposed to occupational hazards.
- Assist in implementing employee wellness, vaccination, health promotion, and disease prevention programs.
- Conduct health education and awareness activities for employees.
3. Emergency and First-Aid Response
- Provide immediate medical assistance during workplace accidents and emergencies.
- Assist in emergency response, including stabilization and referral of injured or ill employees.
- Maintain readiness of emergency medical supplies and first-aid equipment.
- Participate in emergency drills and review of medical emergency procedures.
- Coordinate with ES personnel during workplace incidents.
4. Clinic Administration
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee medical records.
- Document consultations, treatments, injuries, and referrals.
- Monitor and maintain adequate stocks of medicines, medical supplies, and equipment.
- Ensure proper storage and disposal of medicines and medical supplies.
- Prepare periodic clinic and occupational health reports.
- Maintain required medical and occupational health documentation.
5. Workplace Health and Safety
- Participate in workplace inspections and health-related risk assessments.
- Assist in identifying occupational health hazards and recommending appropriate controls.
- Participate in accident and incident investigations when medical assessment is required.
- Coordinate with ESH and relevant departments regarding employee health and safety concerns.
- Recommend appropriate medical restrictions or referrals in coordination with the OH Physician.
6. Return-to-Work and Employee Monitoring
- Assist in monitoring employees returning from illness, injury, or medical leave.
- Implement medical recommendations and work restrictions issued by the OH Physician.
- Monitor compliance with prescribed follow-up consultations.
- Maintain appropriate documentation while protecting employee medical confidentiality.
7. Coordination and Reporting
- Coordinate closely with the OH Physician, HR, ES, supervisors, and other relevant departments.
- Provide management with appropriate occupational health information and recommendations while maintaining employee confidentiality.
- Assist in preparing reports required for occupational health and safety compliance.
- Perform other related duties as may be assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Philippines.
- Preferably with experience in occupational health, industrial nursing, or manufacturing.
- Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) training is an advantage.
- OHNAP training/certification or relevant occupational health training is preferred.
- BLS/CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
- Knowledge of Philippine occupational health and safety requirements.
- Good communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
