Job Description

Job Summary

The Occupational Health Nurse is responsible for promoting and maintaining the health and well-being of employees through the implementation of occupational health programs, first-aid treatment, health education, emergency response, and compliance with DOLE Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Standards. The role provides nursing services, maintains occupational health records, and supports the Company's OSH Program to ensure a safe and healthy workplace.

Key Responsibilities

Occupational Health Services

  • Provide first aid treatment and basic nursing care to employees who become ill or injured at work.
  • Conduct health assessments and recommend appropriate treatment or referral to healthcare providers.
  • Participate in health maintenance and wellness programs.
  • Maintain confidential employee medical records and treatment logs.
  • Assist in the implementation of workplace health promotion and preventive health programs.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with applicable DOLE Occupational Safety and Health Standards and related regulations.
  • Maintain clinic records, treatment logs, and required medical documentation.
  • Prepare and submit annual medical reports and other regulatory reports, when applicable.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Company's Occupational Safety and Health Program.
  • Coordinate with the Safety Officer and OSH Committee on workplace health initiatives.

Emergency Response

  • Respond to workplace medical emergencies and provide immediate nursing care.
  • Coordinate referrals to hospitals or accredited healthcare providers when necessary.
  • Ensure clinic equipment, medicines, and first-aid supplies are complete, properly stored, and within expiration dates.

Administrative Functions

  • Maintain inventory of medicines, medical supplies, and clinic equipment.
  • Coordinate with accredited healthcare providers, HMO, diagnostic clinics, and government agencies as needed.
  • Recommend improvements to workplace health and wellness programs.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Valid PRC Registered Nurse (RN) License.
  • Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) for Nurses Certification (required).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid Certification is an advantage.

Experience

  • At least one (1) year of experience in occupational health, corporate clinic, hospital, or healthcare setting.
  • Fresh graduates with an active PRC license may be considered.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of DOLE Occupational Safety and Health Standards.
  • Familiarity with workplace health and safety programs.
  • Strong clinical assessment and emergency response skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and medical documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Work Arrangement

  • Employment Type: Part-Time
  • Work Schedule: Minimum of four (4) hours per workday, Monday to Friday 10am – 3pm
  • Work Setup: Office-Based

Duties in Accordance with DOLE OSH Standards

The Occupational Health Nurse shall:

  • Organize and administer the workplace health service program.
  • Provide nursing care to ill or injured employees.
  • Participate in health maintenance examinations and workplace wellness activities.
  • Recommend improvements to workplace health and safety practices.
  • Maintain occupational health records and prepare required reports.
  • Perform other occupational health duties within the scope of the nursing profession and applicable DOLE regulations.
