NZ Senior Tax Accountant


Location: Clark, Philippines
Work Arrangement: Remote, Full-time
Shift: Dayshift | 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM PHT
Salary Range: Php 105,000 - Php 170,000

We are looking for a seasoned NZ Senior Tax Accountant to join our team and work with a diverse portfolio of clients - spanning SMEs, trusts, partnerships, and companies across a broad range of industry sectors. Whether embedded in a virtual team or placed with a specific client, you'll bring your New Zealand tax expertise to the table and make a meaningful impact from day one.

Your Impact

* Tax Mastery: Prepare comprehensive tax returns, activity statements, and ensure full compliance with the latest New Zealand tax rules and legislation.

* Numbers Whisperer: Prepare detailed work papers and reconciliations through to financial statement stage with precision and consistency.

* Entity Expert: Produce financial statements, income tax returns, and other lodgements for companies, partnerships, trusts, and complex individual businesses - including large groups and inter-entity reconciliations.

* Client Champion: Assist clients with tax planning, GST matters, and bookkeeping to keep their financial affairs in top shape.

* Advisory Ace: Contribute to business advisory projects including budgets, cashflows, and management reporting that drive smarter decisions.

* Compliance Guardian: Maintain all documentation, work papers, and client files in strict alignment with Findex Group compliance requirements.

What You Bring

* Degree Done Right: An Accounting degree or a related qualification with a major in Accounting - your academic foundation sets the tone.

* CA/CPA in Progress: Completed or actively working towards your CA or CPA designation - ambition recognised and rewarded.

* Battle-Tested Experience: At least 5 years of proven accounting and taxation experience within a New Zealand context - you know the landscape inside and out.

* Legislation Literacy: Thorough understanding of New Zealand taxation legislation, including GST, FBT, and the Companies Act - no surprises here.

* Sharp Commercial Instincts: Strong commercial acumen paired with sound technical accounting and analytical skills to identify issues and solve them efficiently.

* Tech-Savvy Pro: Proficient with MYOB, Xero, Reckon, QuickBooks, and Excel - and familiarity with Reckon APS is a bonus we love to see.

* Communication Craft: Proficient English writing and verbal skills with excellent stakeholder management and the ability to build strong internal relationships.

* Detail-Driven Deliverer: Strong attention to detail, the ability to prioritise your workload, and a consistent track record of meeting productivity and turnaround metrics.
