Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare various types of noodles (e.g., ramen, soba, udon, rice noodles) according to recipes or customer preferences.
  • Cook noodles to the correct texture and doneness (e.g., al dente, soft).
  • Time cooking of noodles and other ingredients to ensure dishes are served hot and fresh.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cooking station.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
  • Monitor inventory and notify the kitchen manager or chef when supplies are low.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not always required).
  • Prior experience as a cook or kitchen helper (12 years preferred).
  • Experience specifically in Asian cuisine or noodle preparation is a strong advantage.
  • Ability to cook different types of noodles to the correct texture.
  • Knowledge of broths, stir-fry techniques, and Asian seasonings/sauces.
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment (woks, steamers, burners, etc.
